    Hey Jack,

It’s always a challenge when trying to make things easy for the end user, but that’s what make it interesting.

Thanks for the great review mate!

Great tool – used without a hitch on one server, two domains – Wow, awesome, great tip and i was mentally counting stats increases and ranking bumps.

Then, the hitch – the interface only works in IE on another server, WTF? and on yet another server, every time I activate, the whole dashboard errors out, and I have to manually delete wit hthe file manager. Sigh…

Jack, what’s the OTHER next best one of these you’ve found?

thanks for all the good info, and keep on sharin’

It just crapped out on me too with upgrading WP. I am waiting to hear if he’s going to do an update. It made whole admin pages blank – like editing comments, etc. which kind of made me pee my pants a little.

So it’s gone right now until I can find an alternative.

Ahh – ok – yep, i see that – I hope he fixes it!
    Man, too bad…

    Hi Jack,
You are introducing me to a whole new world of opportunities as I am only really used to html sites. In the beginning dynamic sites weren’t that acceptable by the search engines I recall but now I start seeing the great potential in many streams of content that can be generated by using dynamic sites. – So actually I am trying to catch your main ideas in your second version Authority Black Book, just downloaded.

As I try to keep away from paid membership sites (I have wasted too many money during the years because I am often traveling and can’t keep up with all the new offers on a membership site) I am looking on options for getting the most valuable WP plug-ins without having to pay a fortune – to run WP on my own sites.
My feeling is that you have provided us with a lot of help to that in your book (Thanks :-)

    - Will soon come back to your sites :-)

    Speak my mind?
    Don’t mind if I do!

I haven’t the foggiest idea what idea what you guys are saying here. And yet, I’m not really that ignorant. (ignorant is the key word here). Come, walk a way with me while I try to explain.

I started out in the cyber world learning to program in machine language; you know, that 10110110011101010 111 stuff, did my apprentice ship coding in Fortran and Cobal before I finally swept it all out the door and invited Basic into the stable. I stayed there for a few years, writing small applets (We call them ‘Plug Ins’ now, don’t we?). Then came along Apple, CPM, Microsoft and Windows DOS, INTEL’S 386 CHIP…and then I read Dell’s bio and secretly opened my Dept. of the Navy PC to see if he was lying about the pitiful thing being stuffed with non IBM parts off the shelf. It was and I have been assembling my own machines ever since. Despite all that esoteric background, I am still NOT guru status.

I have used my machines primarily for personal research into whatever question the Living God leaves me with at days end. Now I need to pull it all together just to earn a few more bucks to help pay for getting old without having stashed a tin can full of Polaroid Land stock certificates in the back yard. It happens.

So, a couple of years back, I ran across an ad online suggesting that I could earn a substantial income working out of my home if I had access to an online computer. Of course I answered it. A 76 year old semi-retired Master Electrician with elder infirmities is virtually unhirable anywhere in the industry. This situation is exacerbated by a wife ill with alzheimer’s and muscular dystrophy. (Don’t cry! It’s inappropriate here. This is necessary background. Back to the ad. Again of course, it was a scam. Ovef 98 percent of what I investigated was/is scam or downright fraud. I have printed out over a case and a half of paper documentation which purports to be the One and Only End All Secrets Revealed Little Known Tools Used By Major Internet Marketing Gurus Guaranteed for INSTANT SUCCESS.

The last download I did was The Authority Black Book, by J. Humphrey… FREE!
INTERESTING READING! Following the embeded links, I ended up here, posting along the way. Through Black Book I hope to learn to direct some heavy traffic to the website above; http://www.PayPerPlay2008.com , and bootstrap some capital to invest in the real reason Black Book is given away. That’s my plan and I’m gonna stick to it!!

I am fully aware of the marketing ploy involved… it’s ok if it is done ethically as I believe it was here. I would like very much to learn more about Social Marketing, I can see the future in it almost as if I, myself, had written it. Here is the rub. All that stuff about my medical problems, both my wife and myself….. It’s more than just true. I was handling my wife’s meds via Medicare until I got notified that I needed a new drug on the market that would cost me $235.00 per month. No big deal… I joined a Medicare Drug plan and got the cost down to $98.00 per month. A subscription to Authority Site Center costs $97.00 per month. As of today, I don’t have assets to cover either, far less both.

No, I’m not looking for a hand out. But a helping hand (other than the two at the ends of my arms) would be nice. See that website up there? I get paid a few cents for EVERY click. It would be a kind, helpful and charitable thing to do. So, do it already!

Thanks for your time reading this..

Jack – any word on if this plugin now works or is being updated?

Nevermind – I just saw this posting on the KQF download site:

    *** Important ***

It is a shame, but I just can’t afford the time to work on my plugins anymore these days.

To be honest, I didn’t mind creating these useful plugins for everyone to use, because I enjoyed putting it all together. But there comes a time when I have to put my time and effort into projects that actually put bread on the table.

So what does this actually mean? It means the plugins have basically reached their final versions. I might at a whim add/modify/fix this and that, but don’t expect too much. I definitely won’t have time to test for clashes with the hundreds of other plugins out there in the wild.

To the best of my knowledge and IMHO, my plugins have been well written. They should behave themselves. If you think otherwise, just uninstall them. Or you could wait for an update…but don’t hold your breath!

If you have a query about something, it’s best to bring it up in the WP forums. I am sure there are people out there who are able to help you out. Otherwise…

Read the included readme.txt, then make sure you follow the directions! 99% of the time you will find that when you follow the instructions and consult the FAQ section in readme.txt, things actually end up working.

Great site. I just found your site and will visiting it regularly now. Anyway, this pluggin is exactly what I was looking for to display NASCAR news headlines on my Ryan Newman Fan site.

You can see it in action on my site http://ryannewmaninfo.info/nascar-news.

I basically put the link on here because of the gentleman that posted right above me.

Thanks, the pluggin is working great for me. And I really like how it can be customized.

I can’t wait to “play” with it a little more tomorrow.

    Hi ~

I’m very new to wordpress and I came across your book. I found your book and it mentioned about the plugin KQF. I’ve downloaded the latest version of the plugin: version 1.7.8. I’ve followed through with your video and I can’t seem to get feed to work. It just says “Loading..”. Is there something that I’m missing?

    Regards.

  • http://www.jackhumphrey.com/cd Jack Humphrey

    Denny,

Try another feed. Sometimes it won’t load if it doesn’t like the feed you put in.

    Hey Jack,

I have a question. I have a cheese ball WordPress theme, which I’ve grown fond of, that doesn’t allow me to create pages without placing them in the top menu by default.

Is there a negative effect, that I’m not seeing, by placing the KQF feeds in a post as opposed to a page?

    Thanks,

    Len

    UPDATE:

Apparently with my current theme, it only allows the KQF code as the sole content. When I add any text whatsoever, it screws up the entire page. Any suggestions?

I’m sure this is a question better posed to the theme creator, but I’m covering all bases here hoping you may have a solution. Thanks again.

Len – no negative effect that I know of, unless, in your second comment, it doesn’t work. I’d say something is up with your theme or CSS. That problem didn’t surface for me.

    Hey, Jack.

I love your Friday Traffic Report. I have been reading your Authority Blackbook … for the fourth time; I cannot get enough of it! I take something new from the ‘blackbook’ each and every time I read it. I thoroughly enjoyed the video on KQF plugin!

    Sincerely,

    Daniel.

I’m not sure if the developer of this plugin is still working on it or not. Best place would be his site and look for updates.

  • http://www.erage.nl Martijn van Turnhout@Webdesign Roosendaal

Where can I look for updates of this wonderful plugin? I’ve used it a couple of times on different projects, but I can’t seem to find the homepage of the developer anymore. I love the RSS options.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi there Jack,
I ran into this post when googling for any plugin that allowed to add an rss feed into a wordpress page (not into a post). Sadly, I realize I came here a little too late, almost three years too late, if not more. It seemed like a really neat plugin, so it’s a pity that the author stopped working on it. I’ll keep searching, though.
