You can expect to spend a good couple of weeks before you get your first clients. I would recommend not trying affiliate marketing part time if you just start out. Great information in the article, thank you. I wouldn’t say that it is no-maintenance in the beginning but after the first couple of months it will definitely get easier. Assigning a mentor to help you in the beginning would be a great help.

You don’t need to sell expensive products, just lots of them!

I have recently become a member of your Web 2.0.. and may I say it has turned me onto the way of old (you know..the notion of building social capital) anyways… as always the information you provide is very.. very clear. I couldn’t agree more. Affiliate business with most gurus are a joke. At least, that’s what a real person trying to build a business should see. The better dynamic is going to be the one where the affiliates that work their business are treated as partners in the business.

The dynamic that you should grab all the products that have great turn over and have a field day with mailing lists … that’s just bad news.

That kind of environment, to me, is like some sort of mix between Wall Street and Vegas. it’s just a madhouse of promotions and everyone is going nuts.

That’s undisciplined and dysfunctional. Sooner or later, affiliates are going to want something substantial. They’ll get sick of it.

Another reason “affiliate marketing sucks” is affiliates don’t do proper market research BEFORE they decide to promote something.

In other words, they don’t find the hungry market before they start marketing.

Big mistake.

Continuity is very important too. So, find “recurring billing” products if possible from Clickbank.
