What’s Your Typical Blogging Day Like?

by Jack Humphrey on Jun 13

Seriously. I’m fishing for feedback. I want your comments on this. In addition to the immortality of your input (I’ve arranged it so that this blog will live decades after I’m gone!) this discussion will help you and other readers see what different bloggers spend their time on each day.

Sample:

  • Wake up and check feeds.
  • Buzz different news items to FriendFeed / Twitter using Google Reader (or your personal favorite).
  • Check and reply to emails.
  • Check forums.
  • Use news to create first blog post of the day.
  • Write original post.
  • Comment on other blogs.
  • Check sales stats.
  • Check traffic stats.

Tools and services I use on a daily basis:

  • Scribefire
  • Google Reader
  • Twitter
  • FriendFeed
  • Facebook
  • WordPress
  • StumbleUpon
  • Feedly, etc.

So, What’s your typical day in the life of a blogger like?

Check email, play a bit of Bloons Tower Defense 3, write a blog post, eat toast and drip peanut butter all over the keyboard, publish blog post, put some clothes on, Tweet blog post, spill tea on keyboard, check feeds, comment on blogs. Basically.

On my more focused days I’ll come up with future post ideas and also write articles to submit to directories.

@Cassie – you must have a good keyboard!

emachines baby! This little sumbitch has all the letters worn off (so it’s a good thing I know where home row is!) and there must be at least 3 pounds of crumbs and who-knows-what-else inside of it and it works like a charm.

Also forgot to mention that I take a bit of time each day to write up special reports and stuff too for my newsletter subscribers.

Wake up, check email. Wake wife up.
Eat breakfast with wife at our favorite coffee shop (4-5 days per week)
Drop wife at work, come back and write first blog post.
Check email, check various affiliate stats.
Write one or two more posts on separate blogs (I have 3 main blog; 10 other WP sites set up to post blogs to as well as show affiliate marketing products.)
Monitor email, check some news sites, watch some CNN.
Write a couple of more blog posts.
    Pick wife up from work.

In the evenings, I will write blog-related articles for EzineArticles, Squidoo, etc., and perhaps do a couple of more blog posts.
