What to FriendFeed to Your Twitter Account

by Jack Humphrey on May 12

Having touble with duplicate posts to Twitter from your FriendFeed account?

If you are subscribed through FriendFeed to multiple places where your actions are recorded, like BackType, Discus, Facebook, and others, your FriendFeed can send the same stuff multiple times to your Twitter account.

That’s a recipe for making Twitter followers angry.

Or how about things you are subscribed to in FriendFeed that you absolutely don’t want showing up on your Twitter stream? Things like Google searches you are monitoring or other things that could end up putting junk that you nor your followers want on your Twitter stream?

Here’s the answer…

Awesome Jack!

That was me today… ;o) I did figure
it out and with watching your video
let me know I was correct with coming
up with the solution. Removing Twitter
from the list REALLY helped.

Duplicate Tweeting isn’t a pretty thing
at all.

Thanks for the tutorial follow up. I don’t
know about anyone else, however, I really
appreciate it!

Have a great week,
CF-

Hi Jack,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have a little problem that when I go into FeedFriend and then choose Settings I do not have a row there that says Twitter Publishing Preferences. I am sure I am getting the multiple feeds on Twitter so it must be set up in FriendFeed. Can you help. Thanks, SJ

@SJ – did you set your Twitter account up in FriendFeed yet? You have to put your login info for Twitter into your FF account for it to be able to post there. Then the link should show up that you need in Settings.

Wow, Jack my man, you made me fee so good today! I actually found that FriendFeed page about 2 hours before I saw your video, and figured out something for myself for a change! Without you spoon-feeding it, as you are so good at doing. Thanks big guy! Have a great weekend! ANITA STONE, DALLAS/FT WORTH TEXAS http://www.videofitnesscoach.com

Thanks! I tried it and it worked. When this started happening all of a sudden I was hoping it was just a fluke but after a few people mentioning it I decided to google “friend feed twitter feed duplicate” and this blog post comes up #1. Congrats!

This is George from the Ignition call. This video was very helpful. I went in and tweaked the twitter settings (I wish I wasn’t so fond of aliterations). Thanks! By the way, since I played drums for about 7 years before switching to guitar in ‘91, does that mean I shouldn’t get along with myself? :)

@George – At the very least you should be very conflicted. That’s like dogs and cats playing with each other! :)
