More post frequency definitely increases traffic esp from search engines and repeat visitors. Only thing, we should need Time to write more useful content and ideas for new blog posts. more blog post = more post indexed = more keywords = more visitors

Harry - often, your good content will generate backlinks if you are getting it in front of the right people in your niche. Once they see good stuff, they can buzz it on social sites and write about it on their blogs. You should always do both though - backlinking and good content, to get faster results.

Hi,
I am a newbie to SEO. I think attracting traffic to a new website is not easy. At least that is what i am experiencing now :). So, what is more important, enriching content or getting backlinks?

You are correct. Also post your own article with a link back to yourblogsite in it.
I use directories like this one <a href="http://www.yourblogsite.com" rel="nofollow">Links for Yourblogsite.com </a>
