Twitter is Dead

by Jack Humphrey on Apr 5

Take a look at the next thing: Flutter. I don’t see any hope for Twitter when these guys get up to speed.

Very nice! I especially like how it sends a mini mssg from other social networks as well ;)

And although I’m probably not ready for them just yet(LOL), I can see ppl using those specialized “Flutter” glasses!

BTW: I just signed up with Lijit….didn’t know about it til I noticed it here.

Too funny, but in reality someone is thinking it. Trying to be on the cusp and condense information even more..

Jack

This is great! Man you are so on top of this internet world, I would be lost with out your great information. Flutter is going to be huge, I just went to sign up.
Cant wait for my glasses to get here.

Just think I can hide behind my shutters all day and no more IOU’s
what a great concept.

I haven’t tried Flutter yet. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe it’s about time to do so :-)

Ha ha ha! Well done Jack. I see you had quite a few people going with this one!

However, it does raise an interesting reality of the modern world. People need to access more and more information. Anything that makes it easier to access information quickly is certainly a winner!

I work as at a university and in some cases the information being taught is changing literally every few months. It is getting to the point that teaching the skills on how to find and access information effectively is equally and at times more important than teaching the information itself!

@john – agreed. I often wonder how universities and colleges are keeping up. The old model of the same lesson plan that lasts for decades doesn’t apply to tech! Professors literally have to either be on the cutting edge at all times or be over shadowed by their own plugged in students.

John Apr 6 at 3:58 pm

Yes Jack, most are indeed overshadowed. The things that students get up to both makes me laugh and worries me (from taking photos of documents on the teachers desk with their mobile phones and other techno espionage to coming up with some brilliant stuff!)

At the same professors often try to hide behind the facade of ‘this new online phenomenon is not academic and is therefore irrelevant’. Yet such professors are in fact finding it is themselves who are becoming less relevant!

Things are changing rapidly though as more and more educational centres realise that this is not something that can be ignored.

Great video. Hilarious. It’ll take some getting used to but I’ll be able to get my flaps under 26 characters.
