There’s this new Twitter thingy that Gary McCaffery built recently that promises a lot of quality, real Twitter followers. I did this because it’s my job to test these things. But what about you? What do you think of this kind of Twitter promotion?

Hey, Jack.
I just got this today so I jumped in. Who knows where it will go or “grow”. It’s a big claim – over 19,000 targeted followers in 30 days. It would be nice if it happens.
We’ll see.

I just tried it on my account and I think it gave me a boost of about 15 followers in an hour or so!
So I like it!

i just know this, i will try it .. thanks
I don’t personally see how “quality followers” will result from this – it just seems to be a TwitterMid (like a Pyramid, but with more Tweeting) scheme!
Hey Jack,
I am not a big fan of it but hey if someone can make it actually mean something then more power to them. I would love to hear if anyone, other than Gary, is able to turn it to something that they are able to use to grow their business.
Isn’t this giving you un-targeted followers? Why would you want a bunch of un-targeted followers? If that was the case I don’t see the point.
I don’t believe I will try it, tho I’ve seen lots of people promoting it. I think it takes the ‘relationship’ out of social networking, and makes it more about quantity over quality.

Hey Jack,
Just did it…got an early bump in followers. I am OK with it.
Like the others, it will be interesting to see if a substantial REAL fowwing is the result.
Viral innovation…its got people talking if nothing else.
Jack, hi,
I’m staying clear. Same as Stephanie above, I’ve received several emails promoting this and my own view is that it’s going to be another fad. Also – someone will find a way of reducing the value of followers acquired with tools like this.
I already get so many automated followers that are suspended by Twitter for ’strange activity’ that I’m quite comfortable continuing to add my 5 – 6 new followers a day – people who are following me because we’ve had an interaction of some kind and have an interest in what I write about on Twitter.
Cheers,
Martin.

I signed up last night and had approx 40 people join over night – could work. However, I am at the dreaded 2000 following which slows me down.
I just signed up for it 2 days ago. Since I’m new on Twitter and don’t have much of a following yet I figured it couldn’t hurt. I’ve got about an extra 10 followers so far, not bad. Since I promote Internet promotion/marketing services my audience is pretty open, wouldn’t mind lots of people reading my updates!

Jack,
I don’t know but something about it just doesn’t feel right.
I’d rather focus on building a presence to attract the ‘right’ followers and build on the relationships.
Rather that than have 1000’s of people follow me for the sake of following and numbers.
Seems like a “throw mud against the wall and see if it sticks” strategy.
Anyway, that’s just my 2 cents. There might be some value in there for some.

I tried it and I have two problems. One is they are not all targeted or mine are not anyway. The next thing I’m having a problem with is the fact that I feel like I’m doing something I’m not suppose to be doing. lol I just hope it don’t mess up my twitter account in the future. Other than that I’m getting 15 to 20 a day.
