I believe “how we surf” will be one of the parameter to qualify a web page and the more weight will be given to the “content”. Why i am telling this is, there are many quality content without much user interactions like commenting/bookmarking/social-promotion’s etc.

Video is not really the reason why people would stay on your site. Videos are not enough if they are not interesting. Just make sure that every article that you post are interesting. It can be they are the most recent issues or topics.

Google watches how long people stay on your site and whether they immediately bounce back to do another search on Google. Getting your average visit length up above a minute or so is good for you for reasons beyond SEO.

Thanks for the reply! I just added a 7 minute educational marketing video at the right sidebar of my blog (at the top) so people will see it when they arrive.Hopefully this will make my blog more sticky and make the blog more valuable in the eyes of Google.

Tom – increasing the average stay on your site as well as the number of pages an average visitor views helps your site because Google tracks “bounce rate” – someone who bounces is a visitor that uses Google to find you and comes right back to Google within 30 seconds. Every time that happens, you have a bounce. The higher your bounce rate, the less Google thinks of your site because the less your visitors like your site enough to stick around longer.

Increasing your average visitor time on site is always a good thing!
