Thanks for a great post Jack,

I couldn't agree more about writing for your readers and worrying less about what Google is doing.

I remember when I made the decision to just write what I wanted to and to make my blog as useful for my readers as I possible could, it was quite liberating actually. Funny thing was my rankings actually went up in Google and my readership grew as well.

Google seems to be getting better and better are monitoring natural human behavior on the 'net which is nice, we can worry less about being SEO smarty pants' and just be ourselves and let it all hang out...the way it should be I reckon :).

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for clarifying this subject Jack. As a new blogger it's sometimes confusing to know what the real scoop is. As usual, you cut right to the heart of the matter and reinforced what's really important. Thanks again.

Steve Casteel's last blog post..Small Reports Can Equal BIG Profits!

Thanks for your info on trackbacks. I keep receiving trackbacks and never understood the concepts and how they work until reading your post. Thanks

Jack, hi,

As I've said in several of my posts: Write for people - not the search engines. People will buy from you (hopefully), the search engines won't (definitely)..!

Would I be right in assuming that Utility Poster creates the same linking benefit that manual trackbacks do..?

Cheers,

Martin.

Hey Jack,

loved the article. I've been having ongoing discussions with a friend on some of the SEO points you've mentioned here. I sent her a link to this article. Maybe it'll help us get on the same page. :)

Thanks.

This is a great post. I have a pathetic little blog hosted on wordpress.com that has had almost all of its traffic from trackbacks. Actually one trackback. I linked to a post on an authority politics blog, and I mean a big-time one. I've seen the person on Fox News, MSNBC, etc.

Anyway, I looked at my traffic stats one day and I was getting hits from the trackback. I couldn't believe it. I didn't even think there would be a trackback. I never bothered to check if it was dofollow or nofollow, and I don't really care. I'll take the traffic!

Tom's last blog post..Backlink Solutions Dead?
