This test has been going around and I wanted to let you all in on it. The vast majority of FTR visitors have blogs and are looking for ways to get more links and traffic.
One great way is to hit the top 100 favorited blogs list in Technorati.
It’s not as hard as you might think. Last checked, you only need about 161 people at Technorati to favorite you to get on this list.
Will getting on the list help you that much?
Being more visible in the world’s largest blog search engine is never a bad thing.
But more importantly, doing this exercise will get a lot more attention for your site in itself. You’ll be taking part in an organized effort to draw more attention to your site.
Here’s how you do it:
1. Favorite The Friday Traffic Report by visiting my Technorati page and adding me to your favorites.
2. Come back here and post your blog URL and your Technorati username in the comments area below.
3. I will favorite you in return at Technorati.
4. Watch the list below grow and start adding participants to your favorites. Everyone will be doing the same for you.
If you want a link from the Friday Traffic Report, just do a post on your blog about Technorati (fit to what your readers are interested in) and do a trackback to this post.
I will post your trackbacks as well, giving you another high value link.
Let’s see how this does for everyone. It certainly will not hurt!

Fastest and easiest way to fave all the blogs in Jack’s list is to go here and right click the link to download opml and save the target to your hard drive. (the link is on the top right)

Then go to your own faves page and on the left sidebar, in the “Ins and Outs” section, there is a link to import your favorites from a feed reader. Click that and select and upload the opml you got from Jack’s page and you are done.
Come back to his often and download a new copy & repeat. (this way you get any new stuff that was added.
While you are at it, add the same opml to Bloglines, Google Reader, and whatever other online reader that tracks popularity of feeds and makes suggestions to its users.
Why stop with Technorati when we can use the same file to take over the whole world?

Hi Jack, great idea but i think i am doing something wrong!
I have favorited over 150 blogs with very little return can’t see what i am doing wrong.
2. Then make sure you go through your favs and see who in this thread has faved you and reciprocate.
3. Check your “who favorited this blog” list frequently to see who is faving you and fav ‘em back. It’s only right!
Also how do i, where do i go to action your points 2 and 3 please?

Richard – #2 is log in to Technorati, look up your blog, and find the link to show who has favorited you. You can compare that list with the list on this post and follow people back who are following (favoriting) you and delete people you favorited who aren’t favoriting you back. Since you can only have 200 Favs you have to be judicious in who you fav.
