Your Point #11 is probably the most challenging one to live up: “Work harder and longer than everyone else is willing to work.. stop complaining about how much work it is and get to work!” Unfortunately I don’t see it in the youth of today (I hope some people can prove me wrong)… that willingness to work hard at something–that entrepreneurial spirit should be in everything we approach, even if we’re not trying to start a brand new venture, but also we should apply it in our daily personal endeavors as well. It’s all about finding a niche that has a nice ratio of profit potential to competitors. A friend of mine does very well in an interesting niche. His niche is toad traps ! He designed this thing, got it made and now sells them around the world. There is a real need and not much competition.

I think there is a little luck and personality that play in here as well. There are a lot of people that are very good at what they do but are real jerks or they just don’t have the personality to capitalize on the asset. It takes a little business savvy to build any kind of successful business.

The other aspect that do don’t cover is time. Even if you are the best in a particular field, it takes time to build a following and reputation. Many online entrepreneurs chop and change every few months not realising that what they started with may be the answer if only they had persisted.

I like that remark. “Here’s to never having to be the best to have one hell of a life!” I think I’m going to forward this to a couple of people I know.

And what’s “the best” anyway? We test drove an Acura, a BMW, and a Lexus. We found the Aura to be “the best,” but the car mags like the beemer, and the lexus is “the best” for the “must be pampered” crowd.

It is all about striving to be the best that you can be. Sounds a bit like a commercial slogan but it is the truth. You might not be the best but why leave anything on n the table.
