UAW actually attempts to create unique content by having you create up to three unique paragraphs for each article paragraph you write. I guess that’s like manually spinning.

I guess that's like manually spinning. The idea is that it'll create multiple unique articles from the different combinations of unique articles. I haven't used UAW but from the name it sounds like it is based on the myth of duplicate content. Taking 1 article and turning it into 10 slightly different articles will never get all 10 versions in the top 10 of google. That's what you're buying when you buy into the dupe content myth. SYA is simply syndication, although Steve bought into the spinning thing too (probably from pressure by uninformed kool-aid drinkers) and offers a way to "uniqueify" articles. What you really want is coverage and SYA offers the best on the web.
