I can agree and disagree. I agree that there has been a huge amount of money invested in the huge social media sites and i am not completely sure that is wise. they are for the purpose of communication and not really advertising. so where is the Return on investment for the investors? I don´t think the big social sites are going anywhere fast, they just seem to be growing and growing. I think the bubble may burst on the investment and development of wacky applications that not many people use but i can´t see facebook disappearing. It is a part of my daily working and personal life, I think (hope i am not the only geek) this is true for most of us. Everyone wants to belong to something, on facebook for example you get an incredible amount of friends - would these people be your friends in real life - maybe some, but definitely not all of them but you leave them on there as the number of friends counts for some. There will be a struggle as with the .com bubble - newcomers to the market trying to copy past success of others may not achieve what they anticipate.
