No one that I know of has made serious money doing only that. And nobody will. You have to add multiple streams of income!
The key to really making money online is to add multiple streams of monetization. When you plan out your marketing and monetization strategies you need to find additional monetization ideas that you can incorporate into what you are already doing. Here is the kicker though, searching for too many may end up getting you nowhere!
What information do you need to get going? (This is not just for newbies. If you have already done all this, learned it all, maybe its time to re-evaluate what you have done and what you are doing, and then where you should be focusing.)

AdSense is not the only money-maker, although its good, you should have more than one way to monetize with ads and products. Ultimately, creating your own products is what will really make you more money.

I use adsense with a little success but not that much with clickbank.
Great Information! Very accurate and especially what newbies need to hear. We all want to make the big “splash” and have it all quick. Newbies especially fall prey to online “opportunities” that promise the overnight Success. With a very powerful landing page generation program and blogging our company is growing rapidly but it is a constant and consistent process people need to be commited to. Nice list, I think the most daunting thing for the beginning blogger is all the jargon and services available. This is a nice no nonsense post which makes a great starting point. Too many sites seem to treat adsense as the monetization holy grail when the truth is it is just one prong in any monetization strategy and completely ineffective until your content has brought in sufficient visitors to make your traffic meaningful until that point I am a firm believer that you’re better off with well chosen affiliate products with more niche appeal.
