First time visitor and first comment.

Because I just started blogging every bit of information is new and inviting to me. I am asking myself just what does it take to have a good blog, to have an increasing readership, to get links. to have my blog make money etc? The same question everyone else is asking I am sure.

So my quest is to find the answers and more for my new blog.

One tip I read this week is to add a pic with every post, so I do, for now it is ME!!! My pic for every post. Then tonight I find FTR through our recent connection on facebook and do you ever go over the top with that suggestion here with the pic of the junkie shooting up.

I like that some were offended/shocked/ surprised, what ever the reaction may have been because what I saw in it is, "I will not forget". That picture, grotesque as it is, is a lasting message. Long after the words are gone the visual will remain, and to get my readers hooked, do it early and often.

And you did have 5 other very good action steps for me to do. :)

Great post and accurate. I don’t really like the drug dealer analogy but it seems to be working for you. The most common advice bloggers need to follow is to create great content: I think too few bloggers focus on creating great content. Once you have a stable of great content then focus on expanding your reach.

Interacting with other bloggers can be key over the long term.

Welcome! Yeah I took a risk there but realized it wasn’t anything different than seeing a scene in a movie with a junkie in it. I figure people can handle it – but using an image to really push a point – I hadn’t gone that far yet, lol.

Maybe you could have used "think like Starbucks" instead of "think like a drug dealer". It's still the same idea...caffeine is a drug and I know plenty of people hooked on their coffee. Chris Hartzogs last blog post..Need a Compass? Use a Cow!
