I partially agree with you that you can still make money even while not having a website. The thing is, yes you can – but you will not have overall power over the things you want to and don’t want to do when considering to start making money online. Fore example, the pages you use at hubpages and yuwie don’t really belong to you. You only generate the content for THEIR websites while they give you a share of the ad revenue your page would generate (even though they would give you the biggest share).
Normally it’s better to have your own website because you can be assured of the fact that you will have it by tomorrow. There are lots of people, for example, who have worked their, you know what off, while not having a website, at Squidoo, having pages up here and there.
Next thing they know, their pages, hubs, or lenses get banned or blocked or suspended – for sometimes no particular reason.

I advice that one should follow to START making money by using free resources such as investing into Yuwie and Hubpages – just like you say Jack – and when you start making money to start paying that $5/$6 per month for your website as well. Just to be safe.

The idea of socializing online and making money while you are doing it is a valid one. Having an online business should be fun and this approach has a lot of merrit. In the past I have worked in solitary drudgery and often with mixed results. Its time to try something new.

I’ll have a look because I could do with some extra ways to earn money. I want to go away in December but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to afford it now, with what I’m actually earning. I need some ways to earn money without having to spend too much of my own money in an outlay or investment.

Some good info there, something I’ve been looking into but still not taken the plunge! I do agree with the above comment that it’s much better to focus on your own sites if they have any potential, if you don’t own the content it can be throwing money away.

I’m also trying to build articles and and reputation on hubpages. I have the impression this is a very important channel. But it takes time… Thanks for bringing Yuwie to my attention, havent heard about them before.

I would stay away from Yuwie, as a friend of mine recently had some issues with SEs – possibly because of them – allthough he couldn’t say 100% sure.. anyone else have some other view on this ?

Anyone know if you really can get into trouble with Google for using Yuwie ? I’ve never heard of Yuwie before now, and got a bit interested in cheking it out more – but if there ever a remote possibility Imight get into trouble with Google I’ll stay away…

It doesnt seem like Yuwie adheres to very good ethics and I see it possibly getting banned by search engines such as Google
