Phew Jack

Now look here man, that is just plain hard ...

I took in The Prestige" movie on your recommendation.

Oh boy it hurt. Reckon I must be the perfect example of someone who discovers the trick, says "Oh ... is that all." Then as you say, loses interest in doing the actual WORK!

Congratulations on creating a brilliant boot in the backside for me.

Work, work , work is what does it. No glamour, no glitz, just work.

It's the truth.

Such a deep understanding of your "business" Jack can only lead to prosperity for all involved if they will only "do the work". What I particularly like about your own sales strategy is the "magic" is always followed by "but there is work to be done". Thus, no one is misled and in so doing you deny yourself maximum conversions for long term benefit. I see many ASC members who dooooo appreciate how lucky they are to have found the holy grail and they are the ones who understand that to arrive at the holy grail includes some work.

Great, great post Jack.

Magic, Traffic Magicians, Marketing and The Prestige...

Brilliant point made here. Internet Marketing is not magic, and as Jack Humphrey relates here "magic" is not really magic. Great post!...

I have seen The Prestige and can see the exact lessons that you have spoke about here. I was actually thinking the same thing but more so in regards to general marketing success and tricks of the trade.

I've been watching a lot of movies and TV shows of late and you can relate nearly anything back to marketing and business concepts and challenge your own mental model, assumptions and business and marketing strategies.

Great post!

Very insightful article Jack. You've hit on one of humanities many glitches. Life is all about marketing. We sell ourselves continually through our everyday contacts. Some folks make you want want what they've got. And when we get it, the thrill of the chase is gone, so we go looking for that magic again and again, never really understanding why.
I'll try and take you up on that assignment this weekend, sounds like a good flick.
