Thanks for this information. I am old school and keep my lists in an excel file. I need to upgrade to a program that can make list building easier for me. I will check this out.
Hmm interesting, but I agree that Jeff’s old method is more effective, I am working with a 60 k email database which is in an excel file, it’s easier for me.
Hi there
I started out using Excel years ago and then started to use Mailchimp…Wow ….Its amazing what you can do with the help of these sites…Mailchimp is a newcomer compared to Aweber and thought I would give it a go. You can sign up for a free account at Mailchimp if you have under 500 subscribers…I did this…but now I have close to 2000 subs with the help of Mailchimp…
I am at this very moment trying to broach the topic with partners, some think if we have an email list we’ll get put in jail for spam:) Hilarious what people can make out of zero information.
Thanks for the pdf. It has a lot of helpful information, especially that huge list of words and phrases to avoid using if you want to increase your chances of avoiding spam filters. Even though the big e-mail list building companies like Aweber and GetResponse claim to have agreements with major e-mail providers where they are more likely to inbox e-mails from those services, it is still highly recommended to avoid using common spam phrases. As for a good e-mail provider, I really enjoy using GetResponse because they have a 100% free version for those like me who are just getting started with list building and e-mail marketing.
