Great post there – one of the best way’s I’ve come up with is running competitions and lots of them – as well as giving something away – people always feel obliged to link to something that’s free!

It’s good to know that some of the stuff that *I* was thinking, others are too. I had no factual basis, of course, only guessing that the SEs would think this way. Contextual links will always be best. That is, until people start gaming that too!
