iKarma Builds Your Street Cred

by Jack Humphrey on Oct 19

iKarma is a killer app with a simple purpose: Collect and present testimonials and feedback on you, your business, or your products.

iKarma

After all the complicated communities with groups, forums, blogs, voting, friends and a never ending array of new things any one social media site can do, iKarma is a refreshing, single purpose web 2.0 site.

Take a moment to try it out by leaving some feedback for me or the Friday Traffic Report (or any of my products that you own).

Just another website to spread the word about you and build up your Karma Points (social authority).

I like the idea but will it be executed properly, how will they prevent spam and dishonest feedback?

Jack,

I just left a rating and comment for you on ikarma. Looks like a cool website so I went ahead and setup my profile on it. THank god for Roboform because it makes these account setups so fast and easy.

Thanks for bringing this site to my attention. It seems to already be getting some buzz and decent traffic growth. Anything which makes testimonial easier to get is a good thing.

Thanks Alexander!

@David – I’m too new on the site to know for sure, but it looks abusable. I know that I am able to control what goes up publicly, so at least you can’t have people posting crap about you.

But I think people can post glowing recommendations of themselves with other accounts – might be wrong but I think I’m right. :)

Site like these are great for reputation management because they will rank for your name or your business and hopefully prevent any negative press from finding its way to you but what happens when you have skeletons in your closet and you have one of these sites…nightmare
