You are dead on with this and Byte Pit should be a great asset for anyone not familiar with software development. I spent several years managing development projects and a good, detailed scope document is the key to getting what you want as well as a reasonable cost. Developers need to understand the small details of how the application should work to bid a job appropriately. A detailed scope keeps the cost lower. A broad scope leaves room for error as well as developers will also build a “fudge factor” into cost because it is not well defined. Developers also need to make sure they are not spending more time than they have bid.

While this is not the complete picture to managing software development, a good document defining the scope of the project is a good step. Though I have not used Byte Pit personally, it appears they are very aware of this need and will work to help you define the scope properly.

John Reese’s videos for Traffic Secrets 2.0 present good, solid information.

Eben Pagen seemed to give more “upfront” value in his video series, but that was marketing a mastermind program.

The jury is still out in my opinion.

Thank you Jack for this great article that provides more information about the need to create software and actually provides a solution on how to do that.

But I believe just like any traffic generating method, one will have a more success rate by creating software’s that are highly targeted to a specific niche as opposed to creating a general for any one else type of application.
