How to make more money with your blog…

by Jack Humphrey on Mar 25

I just finished a training video you’re going to want to watch if you are trying to figure out why your blog isn’t making the money it should be.

What’s in The Video?

  1. How to make better money with your blog with affiliate programs.
  2. Examples of “Clean Blog Pages” and “Asides.”
  3. Information I haven’t shared with anyone until today.
  4. The very best way to monetize your blog while staying a blogger and not turning your blog into a circus.

After you check it out, would love to hear what you think back here in comments!

Enjoy!

    Great video Jack!

You know, The free cross-linker plugin would actually be a great way to increase linkage to your money pages. It basically goes through your content and and adds hyperlinks to phrases that you define. I’m using it on several sites now to link out to affiliate products. However, this would be a great way to get additional links to your money pages from your old posts.

Here’s a video I did about it last week: Making Money With The Cross Linker Plugin

    Hi Jack,

    Great concept!

I couldn’t agree more about taking your prospective leads/buyers away from the “noise” to give you a far better chance of “quietly” converting them.

As a matter of fact I am just begining to implement this same type of strategy into my own website.

I’ll be keeping my eyes well peeled over the next few weeks to see how it’s performing, and if needed I will be fine tuning and tweaking to improve overall conversion rates.

Thanks again for the “no sidebar”, “no noise” tip. It all makes sense!

    Alan H

  • http://www.midasmarketingservices.net/free-audio-lessons.html Alan H

    Hi Jack,

    Great concept!

I couldn’t agree more about all the “noise” being a major distraction for anyone who is looking to read specific information on a given subject.

We all need quite time if we are to absorb stuff properly. That’s why people still go to the public libraries in their masses.

Oddly enough, I’ve just recently started to implement this same type of method on my own website. The site is in it’s infancy stages, and like any other, it’s a work in progress. I’ll be closely monitoring things to see how it pans out over the next few weeks and beyond.

Thanks again Jack for the “no sidebars, no noise” tip.

    Hey Jack

    Terrific video…

Interestingly, I have often found myself doing exactly as you suggest visitors to my blog my be doing…that is, ‘getting distracted’ by all the other competing activity going on in my side bars – so great suggestion for having ‘clean blog pages’ for sales focus.

Mmmm!! the Fitness BlackBook blog formula definitely deserves my serious attention.

    Hi Jack

interesting idea.I ,m trying to figure out the mechanics of these “low clutter” pages. So You construct a page in WP and disable the sidebar. How do you drive drive traffic to the clean page. Is it a link in a blog post. Is it a banner add or sign-up option from some other part of the blog?

    David

    • http://www.jackhumphrey.com/ Jack Humphrey

David – Good question! Typically you are driving traffic from blog posts to these types of pages. So while you’ll get traffic to these pages from people linking to them and you linking from various places, the traffic originates with your readership on blog posts in most cases. Then the engines can pick up on them and start sending traffic too if they like you for a keyword or two.

  • Iva Reihl

It is very interesting, but I guess I missed the first lesson on where to go to put my blog. What is an affiliate? I set up a twitter account, but don’t think I had an ID. It was with Hometec.com. Any help you can give me about setting up a blog would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Iva

    • http://www.jackhumphrey.com/ Jack Humphrey

Iva – You can start with http://www.Wordpress.com and set up a free blog to get a feel for it. An affiliate is someone who recommends products for a commission. Like, in a sense, I am an affiliate for http://blogsuccess.com and if I recommend it and people sign up, I get a commission for showing them another way to get started in blogging.

    Hi Jack

You are talking like being in offline marketing. I want to say that you have never seen a farmacy selling cheese, for instance. And here is the same thing : targeted traffic to a specific niche, keep them targeted.
I agree with you, great video.

What a shame you put the information in the form you did.

The info is so powerful, direct, and simple to put in place that now
we bloggers can have NO EXCUSES for not making money from our blogs.

Couldn;t you have made the techniques more COMPLICATED AND COSTLY??

If bloggers combine this info with the info in The Authority Black Book, they will have a virtual license to print money.

Many thanks, Jack. It doesn’t get any better than this!

    Great Video and Tips Jack!
I use the WidePage template for specific pages and sidebars on others, just depends on what the page is about. As for the links, I have ALL of mine set to open in a blank page so the visitors remain on my site after they have wandered off.
If any of your readers are looking for products to promote as an affiliate, they are welcome to register (free) at ,a href=”http://2getsales.com/sitemgr/”>2GetSales.com.
I add a minimum of three new products to the list every month (usually five or six) in almost every area of digital products available. Graphics Packages, ebooks, manuals & reports (these can be branded with the affiliate’s links and given away), Private Label products so they can create their own products if they want, scripts, software, templates and themes , you name it, I will have it in my affiliate area to promote.
P.S. You are also welcome to join yourself, since the commissions are based on sales, so you start at 50% and as you make more sales, your commission rates go up. Definitely a WIN-WIN-WIN situation.

    Hello Jack,
    Most informative-thank you
To be sure I understand the process for the ‘clean page’ method,do I retain all my post pages, while creating a number of ‘pages’ without sidebarrs,so that these pages are always viewed first as the site is being loaded…..and yes,how do I ensure these pages are seen first?
    Sincerely
    Laurence,long time fan

    • http://www.jackhumphrey.com/ Jack Humphrey

Laurence – you can create a page in clean format as you would any other page on your site. You ensure they are seen by referencing them in your regular posts for more information on the topic of any given page you set up this way. You also make sure the social net sees them when you’re done with them by Twittering and all the other social stuff you can do to get links to the new page.

Put them in your navigation on the site – make sure your pages are listed in your sidebar and, if you have one, your upper navigation bar like mine (at least the important pages you want people to see and click on.)

Finally, you can use a plugin like Cross-Linker to make sure that words throughout your blog (past posts and pages) reference and link to your new pages. If a new clean page you make is pertinent to the keyword “list building” make sure you use the Cross Linker plugin to go through your whole site and make a link out of that keyword to point them to your new page.
