How Do Wordpress Templates Work

In SEO, sometimes less is more. There are some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) WordPress options, themes and plugins that significantly enhance SEO. These same factors may also work against the visit of the search engines.

SEO is much more than purely links to your site and its contents. SEO is qualitative rather than quantitative, quality is more important than the amount of optimization performed. It is also about making it easy for search engines to understand its content.

Help SERP descriptions are wrong!

I was recently asked to assist a new client, since he had hired a consultant SEO, which made a lot of SEO work but the views of Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask were falling fast. The basics of SEO were clearly in place; incoming links, the metadata elements (description, title and keywords in the HTML head section of page / document), so fresh content, but something was wrong! I then looked at the results of search engine sites (SERPs) of the main engines and noticed that the description of pages and posts not what should have been. The major search engines are occasionally used text of the page itself, as well as DMOZ or the like for SERP descriptions however, is more common than the text description meta element will be used if available on the page or email.

Why are incorrect description page and post?

So why is the text of the incorrect description of the SERPs? To do this we must understand the architecture Web itself, the website is running WordPress with a framework popular topic. There are also many active plugins (most are widely used plugins). As for WordPress Options and general setup, all seem great. The investigation into the numerous variables plugins and theme also showed that the options were acceptable (and improved to optimal SEO). Taking a look further into the HTML of the pages and evidenced by what SERP descriptions are not correct, There were at least two elements meta description for each page and post.

Multiple Description Meta on WordPress

Google and some other search engines only take note of the first element of the meta description as if the text of this item is incorrect, the description in the SERP is probably incorrect. What was happening in this particular site was that the head section of the HTML page / document description text achievement of the many WordPress SEO options, Theme and Plugins. Some of these are better than others in creating self-description meta element is text that was the first description of text in HTML head section became what appeared in the SERPS (for example, "text-related posts" was often are populated, as the target text description).

WordPress, themes and plugins Create Bad SEO

It was obvious that the site had been further optimized and SEO consultant does not see how the technology / architecture fits; WordPress, theme and plugins need to be considered as an integral whole and not individually. Individually, the SEO aspects of the website have been optimized yet every one of the 'bits' (eg Wordpress settings, plugins etc) are working together really caused more harm than good SEO. If the SEO consultant has disabled all the options he or SEO not specifically need it instead of allowing all the options available SEO, SERP destructive then the problem had not occurred.

Trouble resolved – SEO dividend payments

The end result is that the damage has been reversed. Focusing on the objectives of quality SEO and SEO, the number visits directed from search engines is improving. The damage however was totally avoidable.

As a note, that have intentionally not named the subject is used as plugins or gaps were caused by the SEO web configuration and inadequate evidence and not by WordPress or theme or additions.
