I like the remarks Carrie Wilkerson had on gravatars as I always had the feeling that gravatars were not the way to go when it comes to communicating with people. In this instance I would rather see whom I am speaking to.

What is the point of having so much followers? It's not like you care about most of them. Somebody can post on Twitter that he or she has cancer, and I wouldn't even know because the posts on the front page scrolls so fast. Too many followers are simply posting (or spamming) their links. I write personal direct messages to some followers, only to get a message back from them saying, "Hey check out my (link)". Stop marketing yourself, and start networking.
