FeedBurner Being Transferred Fully to Google

by Jack Humphrey on Jan 19

By February 28th, all FeedBurner accounts will be transferred over to Google. If you have FeedBurner running your blog feed, you should check out this list of FAQs to get ready for the move.

Looks like everything service-wise (that matters) will stay intact, but there are some things each FeedBurner member will have to do and be aware of for the transition.

Am I the only one seeing a significant drop in subscribers after making the transfer?

Mine have dropped BIG time. I have over 50k rss subscribers and am only showing 6k. Whatever they are doing, I hope their stats come back to normal soon!

I hope this fixes the problems with feeds not being synced. I did notice the “original post” link didn’t work on the iPhone. It’s encoded strangely.

Not that I’m glad to hear that Jack but at least it’s a little comfort for me that I’m not the only one. I hope they’ll get back to normal soon. Thanks for letting me know.

I made the switch to Google with my feeds a month or so ago and to tell you the truth, I really wasn’t happy. There were a lot of bugs, and when I say that it was like you were being attacked by a swarm of locusts.. Anyways, the feeds are working great now and I can’t tell much of a difference from feedburner. Take care jack!

Thanks Jack.

I had not heard of this before now. Oh goody, I just love more technical hassles!

I hope your numbers come back up, that’s a terrible drop. This is what google said:

‘However, the reporting and analytics may take up to a week to adjust to internet traffic changes, so the number of subscribers you see in analytics reports may be lower for a short period of time.”

Thanks for helping to keep me up-to-date.

I just tranferred my feeds over so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it works out. Thanks for the heads up, Im sure I would have found out eventually, but its great to have somewhere to find this stuff out sooner. :-)

I’ve also noticed the number of subscribers drop off big. I wonder if this could have been prevented?
