I am gearing up for a big contest in the fall that’s going to make your eyes roll (equipment, high-end software, heavy-duty stuff!), but I feel the need to give something away in the next couple of days.
The prize is valued at $1164.00 and it is an all-access pass to Blog Success for one full year! (Keep reading to find out how to force me to increase the number of prizes and your odds of winning!)
All I need from you is the following:
2. Your honest answer (in the comments below) to either of the following questions:
“What’s the number one question you have about marketing your blog?”
Just pick one or the other…
“What’s the number one question you have about blogging in general?”
That’s it!
Contest Rules
- One comment per person. Multiple comments from the same person still only count as 1.
- You must include your main blog URL in your comment to verify you are “real.”
- Fishy or suspicious comments will be verified before being approved.
- We’ll tally the entries, choose the winners randomly, and contact the winners with the email address you provide in the comment form. (So use your best email address!)
- Contest will run until you force me to give away a maximum of 12 memberships or the action slows down, whichever comes first.
What’s Your Motivation?
“If I blab about this contest to everyone, won’t it dilute my chances of winning?”
Good question! That’s why I will ADD prizes for every 25 unique comments. (Comments by 25 different people.)
If this contest gets 300 comments by 300 individuals, then 12 people will be randomly chosen to win the grand prize!
So ask your most pressing question about marketing your blog below. And don’t forget to Tweet about this post and blog about this contest to increase your chances of winning!

Hi Jack,
You know I jump all over your contests, still trying to win one!
My most pertinent question would be:
How do I tie all my social properties (Facebook, twitter, friendfeed, pingfm) into my blog to make it an authority site?
I’ve employed almost all of your tactics from the Black Book with astounding results. Its the “tying everything in” thats stunting my social growth. I’m also not the most diligent with creating fresh content.
Thanks again!

I am interested in removing the wordpress.com at the end of my blog and be able to add plug ins on to my blog… How do I change my exsisting blog so that it only consists of my domain name?
Jack,
Awesome contest idea. My question is:
How do I generate fast, consistent and unique traffic to my blog without having to pay for it? PPC, FB ads, and WP Direct seem to be all the rage but for those of us just starting out and nothing but time to invest it seems like a money pit.

How do I find the best affiliates or ads for my blog? I’m not sure how to find legitimate and profitable opportunities.
What are the best ways to promote affiliate products on your blog? and are selling memberships a good source of income ?

My question is I get tempted to write on topics that people in my niche (in my city, my local city I live in) is searching, but I don’t want to do that just to seek spike in traffic. I am afraid writing on popular topics for the sake of writing might just lead to average blogs, which will certainly get ignored since people already have news blogs to read from. So I need to write something people are searching locally, but do it insightfully. What’s the best practice for doing this?
“What’s the number one question you have about blogging in general?”
Well, this is my number one question and i think is the number one question for everybody hoping to make blogging something profitable:
“How can i get great targeted traffic?”
Most people i know that are starting with blogging already know how to write great content and they know that there are awesome affiliate products in their niche to promote and sell… but they don’t know how to get the people!
Hey Jack:
Cool contest and thanks for the heads up on Howie Schwartz. Following a couple of the people who are participating in his contest has given me a blow by blow on how to improve traffic to my own site.
I have been blogging about the recreational yachting industry for a little under a year with considerable success within the industry. The problem is trying to monetize the site. No one is buying boats these days!
However, I am taking what I learned about blogging in that niche and using that knowledge to do some affiliate marketing in other niche markets. Mr. Schwartz has given me some good ideas and I plan to have at least one new site up by this weekend.
I would be most grateful for anything that I can learn about maximizing my affiliate marketing efforts. I know that Blog Success can assist me in that area. Thanks for the opportunity to be able to learn from the best!
Fair winds,
David
Why everyone must sign up on Google Friend Connect to help market their blogs?
My number one question about marketing my blog would be this…
What’s the best way to start marketing products on a blog that’s been about a service?
And should I just start a new blog for products and not be concerned about the current one?
Hi Jack,
“What’s the number one question you have about blogging in general?”
“What’s the number one question you have about marketing your blog?”
I currently provide internet marketing services to small business in my local area. I always suggest to each business that they have a blog aside from their normal website. This is a fine strategy for individual businesses and works well in general.
I would like to know how I can create a local or regional type of blog(s) that can aid in local search results for individual businesses and how that might be monetized.
Thanks
Rick
P.S. My twitter account is @marketingmann and this is the tweet I made:

You know, I have been following you around for YEARS and you still rock.
But living outside of the US I have LOADS of questions about going in business online via blogging and I have to say my NUMBER one question has to do with TAXES and business ownership status.
HOW is this handled in the US if my income is generated via blogs marketed to the States?
(And if I may be so bold to say once that is cleared up, does ANYONE know how this works out for Canadian residences earning money globally? And I will be even more bold, for I live in Germany at present… anyone know about us way over here?)
((But those are asides, the other countries–I would still be burning to know how this works within the US.))
Other questions which would interest me is when did you start to outsource? How did you get “in” with your network groups (do you “mastermind”? How to start this up… How about membership sites… and the list goes ON and ON…)
I am off to tweet about this!
My question about blogging in general:
When you posted your first blog post did you have a goal or agenda in mind or did this develop over time into what it is today? Can I start posting “something” just to get a blog up and running and develop my voice / passion / interest over time and still be successful?

@dawncarter
I don’t have twitter but I did find out about this on S.U. does that count?
P.S. I passed it on
I heard that Web 20 and Google would change the way posting to a lot of directories is done, but I know the suggestions here are to do that so my question is… How important is it to post submissions to a lot of Directories? Will it be recognized in the future?
Hi Jack,
Thanks for the contest. Been following you for a while.
What would you suggest someone do (besides just posting) that wants to revive an old blog that you stopped posting to for like 6-9 months (maybe even longer)…without spending any (or little) money?
Carl
Hi Jack,
Perfect Idea for every blogger to run contest. It’s amazing amount of traffic you going to achieve.
Good luck everyone

How do you promote your site on social media without spamming or being annoying? Do contests actually create customer base that sticks?
Jack, my question is what is the impact of using primary domain and add-on domains for a blog ?
Another question, would you recommend using dedicated ip or static ip for a blog ?
What are the top 5 activities I can do regularly/consistently to drive targeted traffic to my site?
Thanks!
Jackie

Just entered Jack Humphrey’s killer blog contest! http://tinyurl.com/lcscz6 Jack has contest, I’m there. If YOU aren’t, you don’t know Jack!
My main question about blogging successfully always has the word “traffic” in it.
This time it is primarily related to affiliate marketing.
As an affiliate marketer of specific product and/or programs; what is the best way to keep content up to date/current about that specific affiliate and not seem too overly full of sales hype and still generate “targeted” traffic?
Here’s my question is relation to marketing:
How do I go about promoting my articles on social networks, and should I write different variations of that post to promote on article directories for additional traffic?
Hey Jack,
Great contest!
My biggest question is about conversions. After attracting targeted traffic to my blog how could I convince visitors to buy what I’m selling or recommending?
Many thanks!
FYI – I am saving the answers to all your questions till the end of the contest. Not being a slacker!
Thinking of the best way to deliver all the answer to all questions in best format. Great questions so far! Keep it up and tell everyone you can about the contest!
Hi Jack, I’m a Humphrey virgin.
I’m presently in a pretty high stakes employment process for a groundbreaking online marketing campaign for Murphy Goode Winery. I’m in the Top 10 with an entertainment platform I call MGtv! Yippee. Final decision is July 21st.
I have no doubt I can deliver the goods (content production, blogging) for them should I land the job HOWEVER, I want to be the absolute best I can be, leverage all the attention and traffic and take things to an unexpected level of success during AND AFTER the 6 month gig.
**Question; How do I monetize my blog particularly that I may benefit from my hard work in preparation for when the 6 month gig is over?
Cheers!
Kamary
Hello Jack. I’ve been reading all about your lately and I’m really interested in joining BlogSuccess, but I have no money. This is my lead in to the question I want to ask. How do I market my blog? I’ve had my border food blog for a year now and still have not found the secret. I joined facebook and listed my blog(s) but my traffic has not increased. I’m not very technically oriented, but I do my best. I’d really love to join your Blog Success because I could use all the help I can get. Every search find I have looked up about you and your enterprises are very positive. I truly hope I can win a years worth of memership into BLog Success. Need to make some money, just don’t know how.

My number one marketing question is: Where exactly is the best place to market one’s blog? By this I mean Where exactly does one get alot of traffic from besides Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and etc…
My other blog question would be How does one save on bandwidth or protect your bandwidth when blogging?
Hello! Someone who has already signed up with you highly recommended I take a look. And now you have a contest!
My #1 question is: How do I take my brick and mortar biz (of 15 years) and transform that to an online Blog biz? If everyone else is doing it….and creating info overload, how do I interrupt & show true value?
Hi Jack,
“What’s the number one question you have about marketing your blog?”
What is the easiest way to integrate my social media with pertinent reviews and promotions on my blog?
Paul
Paul Kleins last blog post..Create Your Own Professional Quality Sites With Ease!
Ok. So do you want comments or questions? Are you answering this with the truth juice?
My comment is thanks for being here! Started following you recently and I appreciate that you are here! You are great!!
My question has to do with directories:
Why do so many articles state to submit to high quality directories? Why are there so many places that don’t distinguish? What happens when I submit to a bad? Do I need to submit to directories once a month and if I submitted to a bad directory, now what?
This is such a great opportunity. I did not read everyone’s question so I would not feel that mine had been asked already so I would not bother to enter.
I have been blogging for quite a few years now, and I love it so much that I fall on my face in monetizing my blogs. I blog for the joy of blogging and sharing information.
List building is my weakest area, too.
My question is how can you help me to get better at blogging and to earn some money doing what I love to do? That is writing and blogging.
General question:
How do you optimize your blog 100%?
Marekting question:
How do you bring traffic and convert traffic?

Question:
I have created a list in my blog (about IM in spanish) of about 500 people. It is said that you should earn 1 dollar / month per subscriber, but I can hardly make them spend money at all, although I have tried marketing different products / services to them.
Great Contest !!
I will picked this question: “What’s the number one question you have about blogging in general?”
A little info on where I am coming from as far as the question which will be coming up in a few lines. About 4 months ago I saw Jack’s info page on one of the traffic exchanges and ever since I have been in the research mode to be educated as much as possible for that day..
I know Jack’s thought on this is to do just anything to get started and to place that step one in front of the other and you will be that much closer to your goal. I have one problem that is that being laid off for almost 2 years and with very little cash to place into the wrong moves I have been following everything Jack throws my way for information and to grow my knowledge base.
From one of Jack’s emails he mentioned to take a listen to Howie Schwartz and I have and boy thanks Jack. I have to say between you 2 I have grown and matured in many different marketing skills and I see online marketing in a whole different light now.
To keep this to a fairly short response I would like to Thank Jack for catching my attention with his page that day and also for being so kind to be handing out all the advice he does to help a newbie to blogging.
My Question:
Jack, knowing that the yellow brick road will lead you to Oz my question would have to be. ” With Oz being the end result what besides getting started would be your very first step in getting under way to achieve Oz.”
Thanks Jack For The Continued Support

My number one question is how can I get BTE to go viral?
I started my internet business almost two years ago. You were one of the first people to send me emails. You were one of the very few who offered me stuff I could understand and actually use. Regrettably I couldn’t afford most of it.
I did get your Black book and it has been my bible ever since. Despite a lot of adversity, many disappointments, and a lot of stupidity on my part, I stuck with it and I credit 3 internet marketers for keeping me motivated. You are one of them. I doubt you would know the other two.
When, some time ago, I changed my ISP, you were the only person in my old email account, bar friends and members of the family, who was advised of my new email address. That’s because yours were the only emails I would have missed not getting.
I recently wrote a book called My Own Plan. It’s about a discovery I made five years ago which has enabled me to get rid of my weight without a diet, or exercise. I have kept slim ever since. To my complete surprise, it has also cured all my symptoms of type2 diabetes.
I know my book will help a lot of people do the same, it will probably also anger quite a few people in the diet industry, but with five years of data I’m ready for that. The book was published through clickbank a short time ago. It should eventually put me in a position where I can finally afford to get the programs I have so wanted.
I know I ‘go on’, but I’m very excited about my book. I am currently working on a free report with a splash page which will hopefully attract affiliates.
What can I say? You are one of a handful of internet marketers who provides genuinely valuable content and who possesses both honesty and credibility.
Thank you for that and,
Please Don’t Change!

My questions – Does having a set of blogs hosted as add ons impact the link juice they can give each other?
What are some techniques to use a blog to drive business into a retail offline store?
How can I guest post for you? (that would drive a lot of traffic my way
Great contest and information. Keep up the good work.
How can I market my blog when it is based on peoples comments on what annoys them about life today. The problem being it is not a product as such, so how would you market it ?
I’m doing well with my blog in terms of readership, links, promotion, etc. BUT, I’m not making much money with it. What is the mystery about monetizing a blog. Yes, I have great content but it’s not generating any profits?
Installed the blog and created the theme, what is your top ten plugins needed before you launch the site for income revenue?
Thanks for the post, i enjoyed reading it. blogging is not as easy as many think it is, it’s hardwork. any how thanks.
