Today on Friday Traffic Report Radio

The only thing people are talking about his week is Google Buzz.  If you haven’t heard yet, try it out.  If you aren’t a Gmail user yet, you have a lot of catching up to do.  Don’t wait another day, get hooked into the Googleplex immediately.

Google Buzz had Chris Lang, Jim Stroud, and me buzzing about the game-changing launch of what some are calling a “Facebook killer” and even a “Twitter killer.”  Now those might seem like brash, over-the-top statements, but consider what we talk about on the show below before you shrug it off.  This one isn’t just the launch of yet another a new social site, as you’ll hear on the show.

Using Google Buzz

Go here and, if you’re logged into your Gmail account (or not) just click “Try Google Buzz” and you’re all set!

Here’s an important post showing how to hide who you follow and who’s following you (and why that’s important).

Google Buzz sounds really interesting. I look forward to using it. I also know that products will start sprouting very soon about the Google buzz thing

I like the fact that you can connect with social networks inside your email account. It has made things just a bit more streamline for me. I doubt this will effect Twitter or Facebook though…

Hey Jack, glad to see you liking Google Buzz. It has really changed my final thinking on Google and we are testing a number new of things.

One of them is using my Google profile as my link in comments (like above). Notice you can choose to follow me in Google Buzz right from my Google profile. Remember when Eban Pagan used the anaology of holding your date’s hand a bit before….. Well you know what I mean.

I feel Buzz is the perfect place for a little hand holding before you ask for the squeeze page opt in. So I am testing adding my Google Profile as my blog comments link and let’s see what happens. Of course I will be back with as much testing data as I can for you on a Friday Traffic Report BTR show soon.

In the mean time, I want to know what you think about Google Buzz and any questions Jack and I can help you with here. There is a ton of misinformation out there and we are here to clear that up for you.

Oh please Jack! Google Wave is dead in the water, people are just not using it, you can’t give invites away, and facebook has already killed buzz with it’s new interactive interface.

We have a saying in the UK, (not that I live there) and iot goes like this, “I’ll show my arse on the Townhall steps” It means if you’re wrong, you’ll stand up to be counted.

Just what do Google have to offer facebook users to entice them to change?

So here we go, “if Buzz kills facebook, I’ll show my arse on the town hall steps”

Yes, it has a good name. Although I would be a bit concerned about the privacy aspect of it. I am eagerly awaiting to see how it gets on.

I wish Google has invented Buzz before so we wouldn’t need to use Twitter and Facebook :)

I am not a gmail user but I wonder what I will miss if I don’t get on the bandwagon. I’ll listen in to teh show and see if I should convert.

well i will just say that at last Google invented a social book that give competition to facebook but Google has to take that step much earlier.

Sorry Jack, but the whole Buzz thing is just another flash in the pan from Google. Whenever something that threatens their cash cow appears on the horizon the company’s knees go into ‘twitch mode’. I realise that Google need to protect their position but trying to dominate every sector of the market is a sure fired path to total failure. Google, stick to what you’re good at!

Well, this “buzz” was all 3 months ago and to be honest this is the first I heard about it. I therefore don’t think it will scratch the surface of facebook.

IMHO google buzz is an annoying feature, after enabling it you will spend days looking for an option to disable it forever, and at last you will find this option in your gmail settings.
