Great advice Jack,

This post reminded of an ant story I heard the other day.

A group of scientists found an entire colony of ants who had managed to form a giant circle, following each other round & round... they all died off in a few days time, accomplishing nothing but meticulously following each other.

Us marketing folks, especially the greener variety, can be like those ants... following each other but never establishing a genuine voice (or product, or service, etc) because of being too busy trying to keep up with the loop.

Ignoring the pack for a while can be enlightening as well as time-freeing...

Ruben - yes, keeping up with the feeds in your niche, products and services, companies, Google Alerts. Doing so gives you an overall perspective few others in your niche will have. Be an information overlord!

Thanks!
Ruben Ricart
