Awesome points here Jack, I love your optimism. I’d say you’re bound for blogging success whoever you are if you can approach in the right way:

Firstly, you have to see it as a real business, giving real value to people. A real business takes time adn sacrifice and dedication. If you aren’t prepared to put this in then you probably wont do so well.

And secondly, you have to blog about something you Love. I think if you blog truly valuable stuff about something you love you will find it easy to make an impact, and you monetise Anything if you have traffic!

I think the biggest problem with 99% of the blogs out there, is the fact that they are 99% unoriginal. I think the next biggest reason why so many fail is because most people are not prepared to put the time, effort and thought into making their blogs successful, it is easier to be a wage slave for ever more.

Boy have I learned this the hard way.just like everyone else here! I still have my days where I don’t want to write and I have to tell myself that winners do what others don’t want to do so they do what they want to when no one else can. Or something like that. Either way this is a great eye opener for many and I love this:

I am/was a professional [pacman/world of warcraft/Mario Bros.] trigger finger. Can I put that talent to the bank on a blog? Maybe a vlog showing retro how-to-win-pacman videos?

I think too many people think they can just launch a blog and see their bank accounts fill up. A blog is simply a business, that’s it. If you treat it like a business you will have the same ups and downs as every business owner has. At this point a blog has to bring something new and unique to the table in order to really generate some income but even then they pour their blood, sweat and tears into it. Oh yeah, lots of traffic helps too.
