Guest blogging has become a favorite of mine particularly since the search engines pay attention more to links contained in content as opposed to being in a navigation bar, comments or even social marketing sites.

I have been blogging since Feb 10, my traffic was around 200 unique visitiors per/month to start but in the last 2 months I have seen a big increas to an avg of 2000 but I am still having trouble making money with adsense and continuing the growth of visitors. I would like to be getting 300 a day.

Any ideas. I know it has not been long but I have read books, joined social networks, and of course searched all over the internet.

thanks,

I think that the hardest step is the second one where you have to "make friends" with Search Engines, it's almost impossible.

Search engine traffic seems to come with time. I have made only half hearted attempts a SEO and still generate a great deal of traffic from them (mainly Google). The majority of my traffic comes from Stumbleupon, Twitter and Facebook. These are great sources for traffic, at least for me. I have a limited niche with Politics being my bread and butter. Other content types may benefit from other sources.

It seems that the "Share This" feature is a MUST on any site looking to get more traffic. It's amazing and almost hard to believe how much influence those "social networking" sites can have, and how much draw one person's positive comment about a site can produce. Thanks for the info!

[...] 7. Get traffic to come to your website. And just having a website is not enough anymore. You need people to find it and then your fan base will need a reason to keep returning.
Jack - This post offers some golden nuggets. I encourage your readers to follow the links and really study this subject - it has a high ROI on your time. Also, the inclusion of Joost De Valk's Word Press SEO - this is a must read for anyone serious about SEO for Word Press.

Great post - fantastic content links.
