by Jack Humphrey on Oct 7

Chris Brogan lays out a great plan for using social media during the recession. If you are experiencing some pain or numbness in your marketing, traffic flow, or rankings, this prescribed list of 25 social media tips will get you on your feet again.

I like Chris’ take on “outposts” especially. Wish I had thought of that term!

Social marketing continues to provide us with opportunities to reach our target markets. Tons of new sites are still coming online to help us meet our markets face to virtual face. Today might be a good time to allow yourself some surfing time to get to know some new social media properties to see if there is a fit for you and your business.

I like that concept also you have a home base and then your outpost. Reminds me of what Howie Schwartz said that marketing is like a war. Your going to battle everyday for peoples attention.

So you need your platoons or outpost to report back to home base where you have your reinforcements.

That’s a great list, but I particularly like #23 – don’t hang around with groups of fired co-workers.

Having a positive mental outlook is an absolutely paramount requirement at times like these, and sympathising with people about how it’s all the fault of this person, that regulation or whatever, is not the way to develop a positive attitude!

If you want to be a winner, hang around with winners!

Cheers,

Martin.
